Why Your Website Isn’t Converting (And How to Fix It)

Why Your Website Isn’t Converting (And How to Fix It)

Your website gets traffic. People visit, scroll, and leave. No inquiry. No booking. What’s going wrong?

Usually, it’s one of these five things.

1. No Clear Call to Action

Every page needs to tell the visitor what to do next. If your homepage has beautiful photos but no obvious "Inquire Now" or "Check Availability" button, you’re leaving it up to them to figure it out. They won’t.

**Fix:** Add a clear CTA button above the fold on every page. Make it visible, make it specific.

2. Too Many Choices

A navigation with 12 links, a homepage with 8 sections, a portfolio with 40 galleries , it’s overwhelming. When people feel overwhelmed, they leave.

**Fix:** Simplify. 5 navigation items max. Curate your portfolio to 3–5 of your best galleries. Guide the visitor through a clear path: see work → read about you → check pricing → inquire.

3. Pricing Is Hidden or Missing

Couples don’t want to "reach out for pricing." They want a ballpark so they know if you’re in their budget before investing emotional energy. If your pricing is completely hidden, you lose budget-aligned couples who assume you’re out of range.

**Fix:** Show starting prices or package ranges. You don’t need exact figures , "Packages from $3,500" is enough.

4. Slow Load Times

If your homepage takes more than 3 seconds to load, you’re losing visitors before they even see your work. Full-resolution images, uncompressed files, and heavy scripts kill load speed.

**Fix:** Compress all images to under 300KB. Use WebP format. Lazy-load images below the fold.

5. No Social Proof

A beautiful portfolio shows your skill, but testimonials show your reliability, professionalism, and what it’s like to work with you. Couples trust other couples.

**Fix:** Add 2–3 short testimonials to your homepage. Include the couple’s first names and wedding venue for credibility.

Test It Yourself

Open your website on your phone. Can you figure out what you do, where you’re based, what you charge, and how to contact you within 10 seconds? If not, you have work to do.
